About

Jenna Turner currently dances professionally with Ballet Melange in Denver, CO. When she is not dancing and performing, she teaches ballet, contemporary, and variations in the Denver and Evergreen areas. She received her pre-professional ballet and contemporary dance training at The Kirov Academy, Washington DC and The Rock School for Dance Education, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, both on scholarship. She competed at Youth America Grand Prix competitions, placing third in Hartford, Connecticut and second in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was invited to the New York City finals both times.  She debuted as a professional at Huntsville Ballet Company, Alabama as a principal dancer, then went on to join City Ballet of San Diego. During her professional career she danced the roles of Sugarplum Fairy and Dewdrop Fairy  in “The Nutcracker”, Christine in “Phantom of the Ballet”, Fairy Godmother in “Cinderella”, and many works by George Balanchine. With the arrival of Covid, Jenna took a hiatus from her professional career to attend college: University of California, Santa Barbara on scholarship, where she received extensive modern dance training and had the privilege of touring internationally with their dance company, performing contemporary choreography by Meredith Ventura, Delilah Mosley, and Christina McCarthy, as well as performing with and choreographing for Santa Barbara Festival Ballet. She graduated with high honors, receiving her bachelor of fine arts degree in dance. She also received two awards: “Best Choreography” and “Generosity of Spirit and Professionalism”. Her experience at UCSB sparked her love of choreography, and she now choreographs and coaches young dancers for competitions, performances, and auditions.
